Fredrica spent her summer holidays with her great aunt, a modern miss who learnt to drive a car, and conveyed her husband to the pub once a week when he became too old to get on a horse. Fred first read Pride and Prejudice at fifteen and thought it very entertaining. She next read it at thirty and thought it a work of genius.

I'm glad I did - I was not disappointed

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. I was skeptical because the cover art screams "bad fan fiction." However, I decided to give it a chance because the premise was appealing. I'm glad I did - I was not disappointed. It is well-written and engaged my attention for the entirety, which is rare for variations of this length.

PROS:
There is a great deal of humor in this book. These humorous scenes really added to my enjoyment of the work as it made all the minor characters more endearing (rather than annoying as I usually find them). The humor is very tasteful and witty - not the ridiculous variety that makes you roll your eyes and put the book down in disgust.

I love that Elizabeth is independent and resourceful, looking to useful employment, as opposed to marriage, for contentment. Now, before you object to the unrealistic idea of a gentleman's daughter finding employment, it is addressed in the book to satisfaction. Lizzy's "occupation" was one of my favorite elements of this book. This idea touches upon a women's loss of freedom and independence upon marriage.

I usually shy away from stories that center on Darcy wanting Elizabeth to be his mistress. It is distasteful and makes him irreversibly undesirable in my book. I was curious about how the author would "make it right" in the end. It seems impossible for Darcy to redeem himself after making such a disgusting proposition. However, this author did a fairly good job of it. This also allowed for an interesting segue into the topic of the double standard between genders regarding sex.

CONS
Most of the book is a re-telling of the Jane Austen original with small tweaks. Obviously, I love the original but am looking for new twists when I read variations. It made for a bit of a boring read in the middle. I don't know how JAFF authors can really get around this issue though...

Elizabeth's change of heart to accept Darcy came much too abruptly. She was pretty much disgusted, insulted, and dead-set against him right up until she up and accepted his second proposal. This is strange considering how well-evolved the remainder of the story is.

I like epilogues. The author explains at the end why she excluded it from her book and that it can be found online; however, I really wish she would have just included it. She made mention of possibly writing a continuation and I hope she does. I would definitely read it! Also, the author should consider new cover art. It does not at all reflect the quality you find inside.

Unique and Imaginative

Loved this one! It was long and well written, very few typos. I've been a review slacker lately, just giving stars at the end of the Kindle version if it was a 3 or 4 stars in my opinion. Had to review this one! The author really used her imagination and mixed things up, really unique plot turns. There were sex scene's but not overly so, I enjoyed them. The author did not follow J.A. cannon, but that is one of the reasons I loved it. This was a real gold mine in this genre to me, quite out of the ordinary. I hope the author does a follow up, she seems to have barely scratched the surface here and has left lots of story room to follow.
Highly recommend for Austen fanfic lovers

Interesting new take on some of our favorite characters

Very enjoyable and unique read overall. Have yet to read a P and P variation quite like it. The Darcy and Elizabeth characters are somewhat different from their original selves, but in some very interesting ways. Lizzy is strong as ever, but she is more serious in this book, with less interest in parties, poetry or marriage. Darcy appears to be written a bit younger with something of a teenager's labido. We get to see sides of Darcy that would not have been discussed in the original. If you prefer to believe Darcy was saving himself for marriage, this is not the book for you. There were some editing problems, but I did not find them too distracting. Other than Darcy coming off as quite the rake at times, the book is very entertaining, and some of the main characters evolve in unexpected ways. It does alter from the original storyline quite a bit. No elopement for one.

Adolescentes ricas e insatisfechas. La eterna codicia. Una investigadora que no respeta reglas. Estupenda novela policial.

Es f�cil ser joven y bonita, es f�cil ser adolescente y vivir en un mundo de libertad donde uno dispone de autom�vil, tel�fonos celulares, computadoras y toda suerte de ingeniosos medios de comunicarse con quien uno quiere. Es f�cil aparentar tener una vida inocente y en particular, cuando uno se siente con derecho a hacer y poseer lo que a uno se le antoje. Bueno, al menos por un tiempo... parece f�cil.
Pero un d�a uno se encuentra en una buena habitaci�n de hotel con un cliente habitual que acaba de volver a enloquecer por nuestros encantos y suena el tel�fono del hombre, �l se pone a conversar y uno escucha algo que no deber�a haber escuchado, y el cliente la mira a uno, no ya con deseo, sino con alarma y sospecha. Por un instante, entonces, uno descubre en los ojos del hombre que las cosas no son tan f�ciles como parec�an, y un rel�mpago de alerta sacude el cuerpo y el alma... pero ya es demasiado tarde.
No he le�do las otras novelas de Libby F. Hellman, as� que �ste es un descubrimiento. Inocencia F�cil es un cl�sico de novela policial contempor�nea. Tiene todos los ingredientes y el ritmo de la novela de detectives pero se sit�a en nuestros d�as, en nuestra era de comunicaci�n electr�nica. Esto le da una inmediatez de cr�nica policial. Las situaciones que describe podr�an haber salido en las noticias de la noche, lo que confiere a la obra una vivacidad que va m�s all� del suspenso y de las situaciones de riesgo en las que se mete Georgia, investigadora privada, la protagonista.
Las buenas novelas policiales son una reflexi�n involuntaria sobre las zonas m�s enfermas de nuestra sociedad y de nuestras mentes. Inocencia f�cil no escapa a esta regla, y revela algo m�s que las eternas motivaciones de poder, codicia o locura que originan los cr�menes: revela un mundo donde el materialismo y la falta de ideal de vida han alcanzado niveles tan degradantes que los adolescentes de familias acomodadas, no satisfechos con la vida de bienestar y lujos que sus padres les dan, recurren a cualquier tr�fico que les reporte dinero, incluso el tr�fico de sus propios cuerpos y de cuerpos ajenos.
La prostituci�n de adolescentes que no tienen el pretexto de la pobreza o del abuso familiar para sus actividades es s�lo una de las lacras que Inocencia F�cil revela con crudeza. Ni�as ricas que se prostituyen porque a ellas se les ocurre, por el sabor del poder que eso les da sobre los hombres pero principalmente para poder comprarse el m�s reciente blue jean o zapatillas de cientos de d�lares que venden los centros comerciales de lujo que frecuentan con sus amigos. O el �ltimo telefonito de la manzanita mordida. O lo que venga. La novela de Libby F. Hellman habla, en este caso, m�s que un tratado de sociolog�a.
Pero no nos perdamos en cosas tan serias. Ac� lo importante es que Inocencia F�cil es una excelente novela de investigaci�n y suspenso. Georgia, la protagonista, es una ex-polic�a que es "ex" porque tiene una gran facilidad para meterse en l�os y ponerse por montera las reglas establecidas, y no lo puede evitar porque ese es su car�cter, quijotesco e impulsivo. As� que ahora como investigadora privada va mucho m�s all� de lo que su cliente le ha pedido y se mete a resolver un caso que en realidad deber�a ser resuelto por la polic�a. Pero su sed de justicia y su ansia por descubrir la verdad pueden m�s que ella, y los problemas en los que se mete son nuestro placer, porque su investigaci�n infatigable y su coraje insensato son los que nos tienen en vilo... y eso es lo que nos gusta, �no es cierto?, a los amantes del g�nero... que nos fascinen con el juego de la inteligencia y que nos asusten con el juego de la osad�a.
Les recomiendo esta novela, la van a disfrutar.
Veamos. Cerca de las canchas de f�tbol americano femenino de un colegio de chicos bien, una de las alumnas, posiblemente la m�s admirada por su belleza y por lo tanto la m�s envidiada, aparece muerta a palos. Un joven retardado mental presencia el crimen, y sin saber lo que eso va a acarrearle, se acerca a la v�ctima. �Por qu� la Polic�a y la Fiscal�a pr�cticamente entre gallos y medianoche declaran que este muchacho es el asesino? �Por qu� nadie recuerda que en el pasado ciertos ritos de iniciaci�n de ese colegio de chicos privilegiados se han tornado criminalmente violentos? �Ser� porque por ah� cerca, con los dem�s, estaba la hija del propio Fiscal?

Si le gustan las novelas policiales, este libro le va a gustar mucho.
En Inocencia F�cil, Libby Hellmann detalla la investigaci�n del asesinato de una colegiala. Dicho crimen toma a cabo en un pueblo donde vive gente rica, poderosa y conciente de las apariencias.
Georgia, una investigadora privada, es contratada por la hermana del acusado, para investigar los hechos y en el curso de su investigaci�n destapa una caja de Pandora.
Con este relato, un lector pronto se d� cuenta que no todo es como aparenta. Es m�s, al lector le hace enfrentar el significado de la palabra "inocencia" en todos sus sentidos.

Una novela con todos los ingredientes de una buena novela policiaca; la recomiendo a todos aquellos que les encanta este genero literario!!! I love these books, my 3 year old seems to love them too. These books were around since I was a little girl. Really amazing books. They were used but in very good condition. I saw a few crayon marks inside of one or 2 so far but nothing major. We have only read about 6 out of the 29 so far.

An excellent love story by author Brenda Joyce If you're a fan of historical romances, this is one book that you don't want to overlook, because it is that good!.......Ever since she was a child, Elizabeth Anne "Lizzie" Fitzgerald, had been in love with Tyrell de Warenne. How could she ever forget him ? Especially since he saved her life, a memory she vowed never to forget. Now, at the age of sixteen-years old, Lizzie was not only attending her first Masquerade Ball, but he would be there, her secret love, and she couldn't wait one second to see him again. But once she arrived, not only did Lizzie foresee her future, but it was about to change dramatically, with an alarming aftermath. When Lizzie is confronted by a handsome pirate, she knew without a doubt who it was. Her secret Prince and the future Earl of Adare, Tyrell de Warenne himself in the flesh, and when he whispers in her ear to meet him in the gardens at midnight, she couldn't hide her elation or deny her anticipation, but when fate intervenes, preventing her from appearing at their eendezvous, old hurts surface and regrets follow her everywhere she goes, and most importantly, a secret so devastating, that it tore her heart in two. Bad Book, Good Author

This book had a great premise but a horrible execution. The storyline is different than what is out there and one of the reasons I read it was to figure out exactly what was going to happen. Unfortunately the concept while interesting and lends to intensity is let down by a cut and paste romance that is full of tierd and reused characters and arch types. The heroine is a nice shy girl who has loved the hero forever, the hero is the dutiful honorable and very HOT son of a great aristocrat. He wants her, she wants him, but alas, they can never be because his family is above hers and he needs to marry for money. Added to this, and what makes the book interesting, is that her sister has a one night stand with the hero (he is waiting for the heroine, she shows up instead, and goads him into sex mainly because they are both mad) ends up pregnant, and the heroine decides to keep the baby and say it's hers.

The good part of hte books is the tension and the fact that we the reader know all of the above, but the hero and the surronding characters don't/ When the heroine is forced to proclaim the hero the father of "her" child he obviously thinks she is lying as he never slept with her, and she refuses to admit she is not it's mother. The hero, seeing this as a chance to force her into being his mistress let's her lie go undisputed and as the reader we get the excitment of wondering when he'll find out, and watching the play of emotions that accompany such lies. Unfortunately what seems promising isn't. The old bodice ripper books of hte past have been terribly PC'd so rather than lots of angst and emotion we really move beyond the lie quickly and to a place of acceptance and the tension is suddenly gone. In fact the interesting concept takes so long to explain and set up taht we're halfway through the book before the hero and heroine have any real interaction (with a few exceptions) and I am left realizing that the basis of their realationship is a school girl crush and strong case of lust. There was nothing solid and enduring about them as a couple, and only a small portion of the book really dealt with it anyway.

What is upsetting is that this author can do emotion right, and can build solid couples. The sequel was probably her best book, and those characters went through a lot and when the hero and heroine were apart I didn't need to be told by pages of introspection that they were upset, I knew because of what I had read before and because of solid characterization that they were. This book had a good concept and I think would have been written much better had it been written before the romance PC police took over. Unfortunately it turned out stale and boring.

One of the things that annoy me about romance novels is that there are unreasonable misunderstandings that are too prolonged. There're definitely some misunderstandings here, but they don't really hold the hero and heroine back from each other. The big conflict seems to be the challenges of marrying "outside of your class" which seems reasonable given the time period.

The hero, Tyrell, is a gentleman who's conflicted, passionate, pragmatic, but never cruel. The heroine, Lizzie, is a bit weepy and way too saintly, but fine... I guess that just means she needs him to protect her.

The 26 stories in this book by the late Gene Hillare exactly what the title says. You will eitherlaugh or cry over each one. Fortunately, there is more laughter than tears. If you have ever had a dog steal your heart, you need to read this book you won't be sorry

Nothing could be more pleasing then to see someone articulate a subject so well. Often quoted (and for good reason), few authors have a more honest voice or greater capacity for storytelling then Gene Hill.

I couldn't put it down and I don't even hunt!

I bought this for my husband/hunter and I read it before he did, he was busy with the other one I gave him along with this one called "Just Dogs, a literary and photographic tribute to the great hunting breeds". The stories were wonderful and the illustrations were just as good. My husband often enjoys stories over a single lengthy plot, and these fit the bill perfectly. This book makes a great gift, and the above mentioned is definitely worth considering, the photos alone are fantastic.

If you want to get practical, tried-and-true advice on how to plan for a successful trip into the wilds, then this book is an amazing resource.

I was introduced to this book by my good friend who is a military chopper medic. It got my attention because I had been interested in exploration for quite some time but I had never benefitted from boy scouts, regular outdoors trips with friends, or military training, so I wasn't entirely sure where to start with planning my own trips.

There are a lot of great chapters that share information on how to properly plan for equipment and food and when these basic necessities are covered you will get much, much more out of each trip into the outdoors.

I purchased this book and got a lot of info from it. I also recommended it to my friend Kristian Gustavson, co-founder of Below the Surface Explorations, to incorporate into his own plethora of exploration planning experience.

No matter how many trips you've been on or where you've gone in the World - it is doubtful that you've got all this information. Accumulated from many years of travels, from many of the most traveled mountain trekkers/climbers... If you're planning your first Big world trip to a remote area - this is the book that can shave off the common problems/mistakes!!
